How GAS knows things
GAS — Get Another Synth, yes, after the syndrome — is an observatory for the European electronic-music gear market. We don't publish discounts. We publish developments.
The evidence ladder
Every price comparison names its witness:
- By the retailers' word — a store's own former-price claim. We record it; we never trust it alone.
- Retailers agree — independent stores' claims converge. Stronger, still claims.
- GAS watched it happen — prices we observed ourselves, over time. The only rung that earns a ★.
The labels
Every finding carries one short phrase telling you how seriously to take it:
- Verified across N retailers — independent prices GAS observed itself. The strongest label we print.
- Early signal — something is moving, but part of the evidence is retailer-reported rather than observed. We say which part.
- Compared with one other retailer — honest, thin, and labeled as such. Worth watching, not yet worth declaring.
When a previous price comes from the retailer's own listing, the line says previous prices are retailer-reported. When GAS watched the price itself, it says so. The full mechanics live in our observatory — the page you're reading only ever gets the conclusions and their labels.
What we will never do
No votes, no likes, no trending, no deal scores, no fake urgency, no AI-written reviews of gear nobody here has touched. A quiet market day is reported as a quiet market day.
Politeness
GAS identifies itself to every store, respects robots.txt, and reads deal pages at most twice a day. The best observatory is one nobody needs to block.
